At least 14 Nairobi estates will experience a water outage lasting over 24 hours as the Nairobi City Water and Sewerage Company (Nairobi Water) conducts scheduled maintenance and system upgrades.

In a notice issued on Thursday, October 2, the utility firm stated that the interruption would last from 6:00 a.m. on Friday, October 3, to 8:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 4.

The firm explained that the works are part of ongoing efforts to enhance water distribution and improve supply efficiency across the city.

“Nairobi Water, in collaboration with the Athi Water Works Development Agency (AWWDA), wishes to inform its customers of a planned water supply interruption to facilitate the interconnection of the Kigoro-Gigiri-Kabete water pipeline at the Gigiri Pumping Station and Reservoirs,” the statement read.

The water supply interruption will affect multiple neighborhoods across Nairobi, including:

Lavington – Riverside, Gitanga Road, Chalbi Drive, and nearby streets.

Kileleshwa – Kandara, Gichugu, Mazeras, Mbooni, Othaya, Kaputei, Laikipia, and Githunguri Roads, plus DoD, St. George’s School, Tembere Road, and surrounding areas.

Mamlaka & Valley Road – University of Nairobi (UoN) and customers served by the Mamlaka Line and Valley Road.

Kilimani – Argwings Kodhek Road (Chaka Road to Hurlingham), Hurlingham Shopping Centre, Mtito Andei, Kindaruma, Rose Avenue, Lower George Padmore, Daystar University, Denis Pritt Road, Coptic Hospital, and nearby estates.

Kawangware & Dagoretti – Lower Gitanga Road, parts of Kawangware, Sunset Estate, Sohill City Estates, Kagira, Kagondo, Muhuri Road, Upper Kabiria, Mithonge, Kamwanya, Kahuho Road, Ngina Road, Kikuyu Road, Waithaka, Ndwaru Road, Upper Waithaka, Gachui, Kirigo, Dagoretti Market, and Mariguini.
