Nairobi, Kenya – Police in Nairobi are investigating a tragic domestic violence incident in Kware that left a 23-year-old man dead after being stabbed by his girlfriend during a heated altercation.

The victim, identified as Raphael Mutusi, sustained serious stab wounds to the stomach during a fight with his girlfriend at their rented house in Kware on August 9, 2025.

Mutusi was rushed to a private hospital, where he fought for his life for two days before succumbing to his injuries on Monday, August 11, 2025.

According to Kenya Police Service reports, the altercation between the couple quickly escalated, leading to the fatal stabbing.

Suspect on the Run

The woman, who had visited Mutusi while he was hospitalized, disappeared shortly after learning that he had died. She is now a prime suspect in the ongoing investigation.

The deceased’s body has been taken to the mortuary, where an autopsy will be conducted as detectives gather evidence.

Authorities are calling on the public to assist with information that could lead to the suspect’s arrest. This case highlights the rising concern over domestic violence in Kenya.
