Harambee Stars’ standout at the 2024 African Nations Championship, Ryan Ogam Rambok, has completed a move to Austrian top-flight side Wolfsberger AC.

Tusker FC, his immediate club, confirmed the transfer on Wednesday, September 3, 2025. “Tusker FC confirms that striker Ryan Wesley Ogam has completed a move to Austrian Bundesliga club Wolfsberger AC. The transfer marks an exciting new chapter for one of Kenya’s brightest young football talents,” the club announced.

Ogam earned the move after an impressive campaign at the continental championship, where he scored twice before Kenya’s exit at the hands of Madagascar in the knockout stages.

The left-footed striker also found the net in the quarterfinal, but the goal was controversially ruled out due to the absence of VAR.

He will link up with Wolfsberger AC after the close of the international window.

Wolfsberger AC President Dietmar Riegler said the club was thrilled to bring Ryan Ogam on board after his standout displays with the Harambee Stars.

“We are delighted to welcome Ryan to Wolfsberger AC. He is an exciting young striker with great potential, and we have followed his progress at Tusker FC with keen interest and his recent performance for his country with the national team, Harambee Stars,” Riegler told Tusker FC.

Wolfsberger AC, or Wolves, compete in Austria’s top division and sit sixth in the 12-team league with seven points from five matches.

Founded in 1931 in the town of Wolfsberg, Southern Austria, the club has built a reputation as a stable Bundesliga side. Wolves have qualified for European competitions multiple times, most notably reaching the UEFA Europa League group stage in the 2019–20 season after finishing third in the 2018–19 Austrian Bundesliga.

For Ogam, the transfer represents not just a move abroad, but a new challenge that demands even greater effort. The striker acknowledged the expectations awaiting him in Austria and pledged to give his best.

“I am really excited about the journey ahead, and I know it will not be easy. I will need to work twice or thrice harder than I did here because the expectation is definitely higher. But I am very optimistic and I am looking forward to the challenge,” Ogam told Telecom Asia.

He also reflected on his time in Kenya, crediting Tusker FC and the Harambee Stars for shaping his career. “I have enjoyed a good season here, and hopefully I can carry on what I have been doing here to the new club. I am delighted to get this move, and I know it is going to be a very good springboard to the future.”
