โIt is a great honour to represent Magical Kenya. Every time I compete, I carry the hopes of my nation and the legacy of champions who came before me,โ said Kipyegon.
โThis partnership allows me to share not just Kenyaโs incredible athletic heritage but also its stunning landscapes, rich culture, and welcoming spirit with the world. Kenya has always inspired me to achieve greatness, and I am proud to inspire others to visit this beautiful country that I call home.โ
Under the partnership, KTB will engage Kipyegon through various channels to amplify the destinationโs diverse offerings, ensuring the world recognises the country not only for its sporting stars but also as a premier tourist destination rich with natural beauty and authentic cultural experiences.
โFaith was a natural fit for this role as a shining example of Kenyan excellence, resilience, and world-class performance, attributes that our nation is known for, world over,โ said KTB Chief Executive Officer June Chepkemei.
โWe have seen tremendous success with previous magical brand ambassadors such as Eliud Kipchoge and Dr Paul Tergat as well as with the Harambee Stars. Kipyegonโs addition strengthens our ambassadorial line-up, deepening Kenyaโs visibility in the global tourism market.”
Kipyegon joins global superstars such as Usain Bolt and Julien Alfred, who are currently the global tourism ambassadors for their countries Jamaica and St Lucia respectively.
The 31-year-old is set to defend her 1,500m and 5,000m titles at the 2025 World Athletics Championships which will take place in Tokyo, Japan from September 13-21.
Considered the greatest 1,500m runner of all-time, Kipyegon is renown and admired the world over not just for her success, which has yielded three Olympics gold and as many world titles as well as the world record over the distance, but also for her humility that inspires millions of women across the globe.
