Legendary musician Avril has been roped in the conversation of whether she would consider dating after years of being single.

The mother of one recently shared her sentiments in an interview with TV 47.

Despite her beauty and exquisite physique, Avril is a single mum.

40 year old Avril admitted that she has had several DM’s from men, especially from younger men (Gen Z’s)

”They are sending me crazy DMs,” she shared

In response to whether she would consider dating a Gen Z, Avril stated that she is not interested.

”I am 40 years old. I am old enough to be their mum.”

She maintained that she is in her ‘feminine’ energy, where she would still want to be given ‘babygirl treatment’ by dating an older man than her.

As of interviews in early 2025, the singer stated that she is single and enjoying her independence. Her decision to focus on other areas of her life follows past high-profile relationships, including a broken engagement. Key reasons Avril has given for being single include Focusing on her business and personal growth. In a May 2024 interview, Avril confirmed she had been taking a step back from the music scene to focus on her organic cosmetics company.

She referred to the business as her “small baby” that requires a lot of her attention. She also claims that she is prioritizing her son’s privacy. As a dedicated mother, Avril chooses to keep her son out of the public eye. This decision allows him to have a normal childhood, which she believes is his right.
