The Safaricom Chapa Dimba All-Stars team is ready for their week-long international training camp in Huesca, Spain. The team consists of 25 players;13 boys and 12 girls who were selected as the top players during Season 4 of the tournament. They are scheduled to depart from Nairobi on Saturday evening, September 6th.

The players will be immersed in a series of activities designed to enhance their skills. They will play a match against the Huesca Youth Academy and participate in expert-led masterclasses with professional players. Training will take place at the world-class facilities of the Base Aragonesa de Fรบtbol, S.D. Huescaโs modern sports city. The trip also includes a high-energy Segunda Division match between S.D. Huesca and Mรกlaga CF, as well as cultural experiences like sightseeing and city tours.
Dr. Peter Ndegwa, CEO of Safaricom PLC, stated that โChapa Dimba has always been about opening doors of opportunity for Kenyan youthโ. In addition to the 25 players traveling to Spain, others from the original 32-player All-Star squad have already received call-ups to various national and international clubs. Ndegwa highlighted players like Austin Odongo, Emily Moranga, and Khamis Nyale, who have already broken into professional clubs.
The All-Star team will be captained by Stanley Waswa of Ndura Sports Academy for the boysโ team and Manda Sunira Were of Highland Royals Moi Girls for the girlsโ team. Coaches Chrispine Odindo of Plateau Queens and Evans Oketch of Obunga FC will accompany the players, along with representatives from the Football Kenya Federation (FKF).

Safaricom Chapa Dimba is a national grassroots football tournament in partnership with the Football Kenya Federation (FKF). Launched in 2017, the tournament gives young people aged 16-20 a platform to showcase their talent. The tournament has been vital in developing football talents within Kenya and beyond, producing players such as Benson Omala, David Majak, and Jentrix Shikangwa. In the previous season, Safaricom invested over KES 400 million to support the tournament, which included doubling the prize money to KES 20 million for winning teams. Additionally, 150 educational scholarships for TVET were awarded to top players.
