The education fraternity, political leaders, and residents from across the country gathered in Lelmokwo Village, Nandi County, to bid a final farewell to Dr. Paul Rono, the former immediate Sub-County Director of Education for Bungoma East.

Dr. Rono, who was remembered for his unwavering dedication to the education sector, was laid to rest in an emotional ceremony attended by hundreds. Among those present were leaders from Webuye East Constituency led by area Member of Parliament Martin Pepela and Deputy County Commissioner Peter Yegon.

Also in attendance were top officials from key teachersโ€™ unions including the Kenya National Union of Teachers (KNUT), Kenya Union of Post Primary Education Teachers (KUPPET), and school heads associations KEPSHA and KESSHA. KNUTโ€™s Second National Deputy Vice Chair, Mr. Agrrey Namisi, led the delegation from the education sector.

Speakers at the funeral hailed Dr. Rono as a visionary leader and a tireless advocate for quality education saying his passion for education and commitment to service will be deeply missed.

The late Dr. Ronoโ€™s legacy is etched in his years of service, where he championed teacher empowerment, student welfare, and community involvement in educational development.

Mourners described him as a humble, dedicated, and approachable leader whose influence extended far beyond the confines of his office.
