In the shimmering landscape of Nairobi’s high society, the city’s most beloved trio of single women are set to make their dramatic return. Showmax has officially announced the fourth season of its celebrated hit series, Single Kiasi, and if the first look is any indication, the stakes have never been higher. Dropping exclusively this September, the new season promises a deep dive into the fallout from last season’s shocking finale, pushing its leading ladies—and the show itself—into uncharted territory.
Single Kiasi is now the longest-running Kenyan original from the streaming giant, a testament to its enduring popularity. For three years running, it has been one of the most-watched titles on the platform, and its critical acclaim is just as impressive, with recent nods at both the 2024 Kalasha Awards and the 2025 Zanzibar International Film Festival.
When we last left Sintamei (Gathoni Mutua), she was teetering on the edge of a personal precipice after a fateful night with Nick (Lenana Kariba). Now, consumed by a palpable guilt, she throws herself into her work, only to find her resolve tested by the arrival of a compelling and mysterious stranger. Her story will unfold alongside those of her friends. Rebecca (Faith Kibathi) and Nick’s burgeoning romance faces a new threat in the form of relentless pressure from his family. Meanwhile, Mariah (Minne Kariuki), having survived the humiliation and heartbreak of the last season, is ready to reclaim her power. She sheds her victim status and enters a new relationship on her own terms, where she finds herself in complete control.
According to co-directors and co-producers Phillipe Bresson and Grace Kahaki, this season will be the ultimate test of endurance. “We are pushing the girls to their absolute limits,” Bresson says, emphasizing that every decision will have a weighty consequence. “They will be forced to fight tooth and nail for their careers, their relationships, and their sanity.” Kahaki echoes this sentiment, posing a powerful question: “We also wanted to explore what happens when strong women are pushed into the deep end—do they sink or swim?”
The new season will feature returning cast members Kevin Maina, Wanjira Longauer, Hellen Keli, Jimmy Gathu, and Joy Kendi. They will be joined by a roster of fresh faces, including Brian Ogola, Xavier Ywaya, Maqbul Mohammed, and Silayio Neema.
Don’t miss the return of Nairobi’s most resilient women when Single Kiasi Season 4 premieres on September 17, only on Showmax.
