Former Nairobi governor Mike Mbuvi Sonko has opened up about his family life, early parenthood, and how he has managed his wealth to secure his childrenโ€™s future. Sonko, who has three daughters, revealed that being wealthy while still in school led to him having his first child at a young age.

During a live session on TikTok, Sonko shared that he has been married to his wife, Primrose Mbuvi, for 26 years. โ€œI have so many rich friends who love women. I got my first child while I was still in school. I think I am the youngest grandfather in Kenya. My secondborn has two daughters, and my thirdborn has two daughters. I am not yet 50, but at my age, I have over five grandkids. I started my thing with women a long time ago. I had money while in school. It is like I retired early,โ€ he said.

Sonko also addressed suggestions from TikTokers about taking a second wife, but he politely declined. โ€œI have been with my wife for 26 years. These days, she is like my sister. These days, life has become so tough; let me just help people,โ€ he explained.

He has consistently supported his children and celebrated their achievements publicly. Sonko has also been proactive in planning for their future. He shared how he distributed his property among his children to avoid disputes over inheritance. Each child received a piece of property, and they also jointly own a hotel with their mother. He emphasized that his children are financially independent because of these measures.

Netizens praised Sonkoโ€™s approach, noting that many parents fail to plan ahead for their childrenโ€™s financial security. His transparency about his family, wealth, and planning has sparked discussions online, with many admiring his foresight and honesty.

Mike Sonkoโ€™s reflections highlight his commitment to family, careful wealth management, and ensuring that his children are set up for success, both financially and personally.
