Nakuru Governor Susan Kihika has affirmed her commitment towards service delivery.
Kihika who spoke on Saturday during her meet the people tour in Naivasha Subcounty, Kihika assured the residents and Nakurians that she remains focused on development agenda.
She urged residents to shun leaders who are out to cause division in Nakuru and Kenya a whole.
Governor Kihika met opinion leaders from Olkaria, Maiella and HellsGate wards where she presented her administrationโs scorecard in education, health, water, infrastructure and youth empowerment.
Kihika said the initiatives being implemented are aimed at transforming livelihoods and accelerating service delivery at the grassroots.
In Olkaria Ward, she said the county has built new ECDE classrooms at Mvuke, Maua, Shermoi, Oserian and Olemayana Kubwa primary schools, modern kitchens at Mvuke, Narasha, Maua and Oserian centres, and sanitation blocks at Olemayana Kubwa.
Fabrication works for a dispensary at Kamere are ongoing, while roads in RaplandโSuswa and Kamere Beach have been graded, graveled and stone-pitched. The county has also installed high-mast lights in Rift and White Gate areas and constructed drainage systems to ease flooding.
In Maiella Ward, classrooms have been completed at Ndabibi, Maella, Sero, Ngati, Ngunyumu, Ndabibi Main, Tangi Tatu, Ndabibi Central and Ngodi ECDEs, with toilets built in Kongoni, Sero, Ngati, Ngunyumu and Ndabibi Main.
The maternity wing at Munyu Dispensary is 65 percent complete, while water projects such as the Crater and Natooli boreholes and the solarization of Sero and Kipkonyo schemes are boosting access.
Roads have also been improved, motorbike sheds constructed in Ndabibi, and solar security lights installed in Moi Ndabi. The Kariandusi grounds were fenced, leveled and fitted with goalposts, with funds allocated for changing rooms and toilets.
In HellsGate Ward, classrooms were built at Mirera, Rubiri, Nyamathi, Kamuyu and Mountain View ECDEs, with toilets and water tanks also provided.
Farmers benefited from livestock vaccination, subsidized artificial insemination, poultry, avocado seedlings and dairy goats.
Water supply has improved through the solarization of Mirera, Suswa, Rubiri and Mountain View projects, alongside tanks and pipelines under the Karai and Mwichiringiri schemes.
Infrastructure upgrades include 17 high-mast streetlights, new culverts, motorbike sheds and drainage works along Memorial and Sanctuary Roads.
Governor Kihika affirmed the projects are part of deliberate efforts to strengthen service delivery and uplift livelihoods, adding that the ward visits underscore her governmentโs commitment to ensure every part of Naivasha Sub-County benefits from the countyโs development agenda.
The event was also attended by MPs Irene Njoki (Bahati) Samuel Arama (Nakuru Town West) David Gikaria (Nakuru Town East) Paul Chebor (Rongai) Liza Chelule (Women Rep), Alfred Mutai (Kuresoi North), Joseph Tonui (Kuresoi South), County Secretary Dr Samuel Mwaura, CECMs John Kihagi (Lands) Stephen Kuria (Trade) among other county officers.
