Ministry of Investments, Trade and Industry (MITI)Kenya is working with Uganda towards decongesting Kenya-Uganda borders.
The borders at Malaba and Busia have continued to experience congestion.
Cabinet Secretary Ministry of Investments, Trade and Industry Lee Kinyanjui pointed out that the congestion at the KenyaโUganda border is hurting businesses on both sides.
The CS was speaking on Friday when he met Gen. Wilson Mbadi, Ugandaโs Minister for Trade, Industry and Cooperatives.
The duo inspected the Malaba and Busia One-Stop Border Posts to identify the causes of persistent delays.
โWe have directed our teams to act in full coordination to decongest the borders and restore smooth movement of goods and people, true to the spirit of the EAC,โ stated CS Kinyanjui.
He added that these border points are vital lifelines for cross-border trade with Uganda and the wider region.
The meeting was also attended byย joined by PS Trade, Regina Ombam, and PS Industry, Dr. Juma Mukhwana.
