Beatrice Chebet has won nearly every Diamond League race she has participated in during 2025, earning millions in prize money.

Beatrice Chebet has emerged as one of Kenya’s top athletes in 2025 and is heading to the World Athletics Championships in Tokyo brimming with confidence.
The 25-year-old is expected to win at least a gold medal in Tokyo to add to his two Olympic gold medals.
Chebet ended her 2024 season by breaking the women’s 5km world record at the Cursa dels Nassos in Barcelona. It was a great ending to the best year of her career.

In 2024, she won the women’s 5,000m and 10,000m Olympic gold medals in Paris, setting a new world record in the 10,000m event.
This year, she was virtually unbeatable, competing in five Diamond League races, excluding the final, which she opted to skip.
Her Diamond League season kicked off on April 12 in Xiamen, China, where she competed in the women’s 5,000m and comfortably won in 14:27.12.
She followed up with a victory in the 3,000m in Rabat on May 25, clocking 8:11.56, which at the time was the second-fastest time until Faith Kipyegon surpassed it last month.
She clocked 14:03.69 to win another 5,000m race in Rome on June 6, then delivered one of her greatest performances in Eugene, USA, on July 5.
She stunned Gudaf Tsegay in the final 200m, crossing the line in 13:58.06 to become the first woman to complete the 5,000m under 14 minutes. She wrapped up her Diamond League campaign on August 16 in Poland, finishing second in the 1,500m.

Winners of every race in Diamond disciplines in every series meeting earn $10,000 (KSh 1.3 million), while those in the Diamond+ discipline pocket $20,000 (KSh 2.6 million).
The women’s 5,000m races in Xiamen and Rome were classified as Diamond+ disciplines, earning Chebet a total of $40,000 from both events.
She earned an additional $20,000 from the Rabat and Silesia Diamond League events, along with $10,000 and a $50,000 (KSh6.5 million) bonus for breaking the world record.
Therefore, Chebet earned $120,000 (KSh15.5 million) from the 2025 Diampnd League. This does not include appearance and other fees.
Chebet is preparing for the World Athletics Championships in Tokyo, aiming to claim her first world title after narrowly missing out in 2023 in Budapest.
She will compete in the women’s 10,000m final on September 13 and could also battle in the 5000m on September 20.

The youngster won four out of five races since it kicked off in May in Doha and concluded in Zurich.
Therefore, Cherotich’s total earnings from the 2025 Diamond League were $76,000 (KSh 9.9 million).
