The opposition is making the 2027 presidential race easier for President William Ruto, as observed by a proponent of the current regime in power.

According to the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) party’s National Organising Secretary and Mwala MP, Vincent Kawaya, former deputy president Rigathi Gachagua and his allies have lost the plot in their quest to compete against Ruto in the next presidential polls.
Kawaya said that every time the Opposition leaders opened their mouths, their statements, which he described as empty rhetoric, only showed Kenyans they did not have anything to offer.

In a thinly veiled attack on Gachagua, Kawaya questioned why the former DP turned from saying the Ukambani people did not have shares in government to calling them cousins.
The vocal legislator who was crowned Ukambani kingpin by a section of elders, argued that the anti-Ruto team was spineless as it was unable to put its house in order.
He said that the self-proclaimed Opposition team members were unable to agree on small issues and wondered how they would agree to front one presidential candidate.

The MP delved into education matters and defended the current regime’s move to verify school registers ahead of capitation disbursement.
He assured parents that the ongoing verification of schools before the release of government capitation funds was a transparent process aimed at curbing corruption in the Ministry of Education.
Speaking during a boda boda empowerment drive at Mbooni in Makueni County, Kawaya explained that only 3,000 out of 32,000 schools have so far received funds after verification, but urged parents not to panic, insisting that all schools will eventually be covered.
His sentiments were echoed by Nominated Senator Tabitha Mutinda, Kangundo MP Fabian Kyule, and Kitui South MP Rachel Nyamai, who also emphasised that Rutoโs administration was committed to ensuring education was fully supported and that no child was left behind.
Kyule went ahead to echo Kawaya’s sentiments that the Opposition was too divided to mount any serious challenge to Ruto in the next election.

Kawaya had pointed to disagreements over the appointment of Dr. Mukhisa Kituyi as the opposition team’s spokesman as evidence of looming disunity.
The leaders urged the Kamba community to rally behind Ruto, predicting a landslide victory for him in the next election, while warning that Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka risks political betrayal.
