The Open University of Kenya (OUK) has introduced 60 new academic programs, ranging from short courses to PhD level.

In a notice dated Tuesday, September 9, 2025, the University invited qualified candidates to apply.

โ€œThe Open University of Kenya (OU) is a specialized public university, chartered in August 2023. The University offers quality, affordable, flexible, accessible, inclusive, and self-paced online professional development courses and programmes to Kenyan citizens and beyond. Applications are invited for admission into the listed courses and programmes,โ€ read part of the notice.

According to the notice, the new academic offerings include 23 professional development courses, among others. Some of these are:

Other professional development courses, each with a 6-week duration and costing Kshs 5,000, include:

For ICT Professional Certifications, the courses include BCS Generative Artificial Intelligence Applications, which has a duration of 10 weeks and is fully sponsored; Huawei Certified ICT Associate โ€“ Artificial Intelligence (HCIA-AI), which runs for 4 weeks at a cost of Kshs 5,000; and ICDL certifications, which have a 2-week duration and cost Kshs 12,000. These include ICDL Core and ICDL Professional.

A Bachelorโ€™s degree from an institution recognized by the Senate.

Masters Programmes

PhD Programmes

A Masterโ€™s degree in a relevant field recognized by the Senate.
