The President William Rutoโ€™s aide, Farouk Kibet, and other top government figures are expected in Malava this week in a major fundraiser for in aid of groups of Persons With Disabilities (PWDs).

On Friday, 12, the groups will host him at their centre that is situated next to Malava Boys High School.

Kibet, who has graced many other drives in the area in the recent past, has become the darling of the people of Malava, and his word may impact on who is elected the next leader of Malava.

Kibet has held more than eight empowerment events in the area, and the last one was in West Kabras ward after moving across the other six wards of Shirugu-Mugai, South Kabras, Butali/Chegulo, Chimuche, East Kabras and Manda/Shivanga wards where self help groups among them Bodaboda, widows, youth and church groups benefitted with millions of shillings.

His visit comes at a time when the United Democratic Alliance party is expected to hold nominations to get a candidate who will fly a ticket in the coming by-election slated for November 27 to replace late MP Malulu Injendi.

Four candidates have expressed interest in the ticket among them West Kabras MCA David Ndakwa, lawyer Leonard Shimaka, former high school principal Simon Kangwana and Rhyan Injendi (son of the late MP).
