Barcelona teen star Lamine Yamal was reportedly stuck in Turkey following a match with Spain after failing to find a crucial document.
Lamine Yamal didn’t find the net on Sunday evening in Spain’s dominant 6-0 victory over Turkey, but the 18-year-old winger did provide two assists. However, upon leaving the stadium in Konya, he discovered his passport was missing!
The Barcelona star realized his predicament while searching for it on the team bus, which was set to transport them from Buyuksehir Belediye Stadium. He disembarked after checking his pockets, then requested his luggage be brought down, only to find it wasn’t there either.

He then rushed back to the Spanish locker room, accompanied by Ferran Torres, but there was no trace of the document, much to the dismay of his team-mates and the European champions’ delegation.

For the Blaugrana international, the trip to Konya will undoubtedly be a less-than-pleasant memory, as evidenced by post-match images showing the desperate search for his passport.
According to the newspaper Beyaz Futbol, picked up by the Turkish agency APA and several other Turkish newspapers, Yamal reportedly remained in Turkey while his national team colleagues flew back to Spain.
There has been no confirmation or denial from the player’s entourage, nor from the Madrid federation, regarding whether he obtained a new passport or when and if he managed to depart.
Substituted for Alvaro Morata in the 73rd minute, 11 minutes after Pedri scored to make it 6-0, Yamal faced criticism on the latest edition of the show “Buenas Noches y Buenos Goles,” hosted by Marcos Bernat, where his impact on the Spanish national team was discussed.
During the discussion, the media protection enjoyed by the Barcelona footballer was highlighted, but it was also argued that he cannot be considered a good role model for younger generations.
“I think we all agree that Lamine is an extraordinary footballer, but he’s not a role model for kids who go to school,” said Vicente Azpitarte.
The commentator emphasised that his on-field attitude is not suitable for youngsters to emulate and that even his own children, aged 7 and 9, should not consider him a role model.
