I&M Bank Ltd has appointed Janet Dali as Group Head of Ecosystems and Strategic Partnerships within its Group Digital Business, a role that underscores the lenderโs drive to strengthen collaboration between banking, fintech, and wider financial services.
The position reflects what the bank described as her passion for building inclusive, innovation-driven ecosystems across financial services.
With nearly twenty years of experience in leadership, digital product design, and partnership building, she brings both industry knowledge and a track record of delivery.
Her most recent tenure at Diamond Trust Bank (DTB) showcased her ability to turn vision into execution. She led the launch of a Banking-as-a-Service model designed to give fintechs and ecosystem players direct integration with banking infrastructure.
Under her guidance, DTBโs digital innovation hub and its flagship API platform, Astra, were rolled outโopening the way for fintech, edtech, and healthtech collaborations that are transforming how customers engage with digital finance in East Africa.
Daliโs earlier career also spanned senior roles across Citi, GTBank Kenya, NCBA Group, and Commercial Bank of Africa.
At Commercial Bank of Africa and subsequently NCBA, she championed some of the regionโs first digital banking strategies, establishing partnerships that drove growth in open banking revenues and transaction volumes.
She has additionally worked with fintech firms in varied roles, further shaping her expertise in cross-sector partnerships.
The bank said her new role will place her at the heart of designing and implementing ecosystems that are both technology-enabled and impact-driven.
According to I&M Bank, this appointment signals a shift towards integrated ecosystems rather than siloed models within Africaโs financial services sector.
Daliโs appointment is seen as part of a wider industry trend where banks are repositioning themselves as connectors in the digital economy, with innovation and inclusivity at the core of future growth strategies.
