President William Ruto welcomed Murang’a leaders to the State House in Nairobi on Friday, September 12.

However, the Murang’a county governor, expected to attend the meeting with Ruto and county leaders, was noticeably absent.

Among the leaders who attended the meeting were the Deputy President, Kithure Kindiki, Nominated MP Sabina Chege, and Lands Cabinet Secretary Alice Wahome, among others.

The head of state took to his social media platforms to highlight the importance of his meeting with leaders from Murang’a region.

He stressed the importance of unity and avoiding tribal politics in his Kenya Kwanza administration.

Ruto expressed pleasure in updating grassroots leaders from Murang’a on the progress of the development agenda.

Seemingly in an effort to garner support from Murang’a leaders, Ruto highlighted several ongoing government development projects in the region.
