Nursery school teachers will be used in the administration of the Kenya Primary School Education Assessment (KPSEA).
The ECDE teachers will assist primary school teachers in working as invigilators in the Grade 6 KPSEA 2025 that will take three days.
This was revealed by TSC Curriculum Support Officers (CSOs) who are currently selecting teachers to be used as invigilators and supervisors.
However only those currently serving and employed by County governments will be taken.
The teachers have previously been used to assist in invigilating KCPE and KPSEA exams and assessments.
KPSEA will have five examinable papers i.e Mathematics, English, Kiswahili, Integrated Science and Social Studies and Creative Arts.
It will start on 27th October to 29th October 2025 but there will be one day for rehearsal on 24th October.
After selection teachers will be required to login on the Knec CP2 portal and download deployment letters which shows duties and responsibilities.
Details required during selection exercise include; Teachers name and current school, TSC number, KRA pin number, ID number and phone number.
In this years exams and assessments, Knec has introduced a raft of new changes affecting how they will be administered.
The Council has barred secondary school teachers from invigilating KCSE exams. Instead Knec has ordered primary school teachers to be used as invigilators.
Secondary school teachers will however be the ones to work as supervisors in the exams which start on 27th October.
Knec has also directed that primary school teachers not to be used as supervisors in the upcoming Grade 9 KJSEA.
The teachers will only be used as invigilators. Knec says these changes will address the issue of conflict of interest which is blamed for fueling exam irregularities.
โSupervisors and Invigilators should not be deployed to Centres that they have vested interest,โ read the circular.
Knec also ordered that no supervisor or invigilator should be deployed in a school they have served in the last three years.
Teachers will be required to declare interest in the Examination Centre they are posted to through a declaration form by to be issued by Knec.
Secondary school teachers are the ones who will also be used as supervisors in the 2025 KJSEA.
Primary school teachers will only supervise the Grade 6 KPSEA 2025 assessments.
Below is a circular that guide how this years exams and assessments will be managed.
