Police in Kapsabet, Nandi County, have arrested three suspects after intercepting a vehicle ferrying 1,375 litres of suspected ethanol.

The suspects who were arrested during an operation on Wednesday are in police custody and are expected to face charges in court.

Officers secured both the motor vehicle and the seized ethanol at Kapsabet Police Station as exhibits.

The National Police Service (NPS) said the crackdown was part of ongoing efforts to dismantle networks behind the illicit trade in hazardous substances, which authorities warn pose risks to public health and safety.

Police further urged members of the public to support such operations by reporting suspicious activities through various toll free numbers provided by security agencies.
