Detectives in Nairobi have launched investigations into the death of a 25-year-old man who fell from a kitchen balcony in Tassia.
Police said the incident happened on September 12, 2025, at an apartment in the area. The deceased, identified as Owen Kiptoo, died on the spot after the fall.
According to preliminary reports, Kiptoo had been in the company of a woman at her house when the incident occurred. The woman and two others have since been detained for questioning.
Investigators believe the group had earlier spent time at a local bar before Kiptoo accompanied the woman to her residence.
The house owner claimed she could not locate her key, prompting Kiptoo to attempt access via the kitchen door, where he reportedly fell.
Police who visited the house described it as being in disarray. Detectives said they are investigating the incident as a potential murder and want to establish whether Kiptoo fell following a fight.
The body was moved to the morgue pending an autopsy and further investigations.
In a separate incident, a 22-year-old man died after being hit on the head by a falling log at a house under construction in Nairobiโs Kileleshwa area.
The victim, identified as Erick Ochieng, was among workers at the site along Durham Road when the log fell from the fourth floor and struck him on the ground floor on September 9, 2025.
He was rushed to the hospital but was pronounced dead while receiving treatment. Police visited the scene as part of the ongoing probe.
