A grandfather and his grandson died after they were knocked by a vehicle at Elengetia area along Narok-Nakuru road.

Tekero Yenko (87) and his grandson Brayan Yenko (32) died at a Nakuru hospital where they were undergoing treatment.

According to the police report, the two were walking on by the roadside when an Isuzu lorry that was being driven from Narok towards Nakuru direction hit another vehicle that was being driven in the opposite direction before losing control and hitting the duo.

Good Samaritans rushed the two to Valley Hospital in Nakuru where they succumbed to injuries while undergoing treatment.

Narok County police boss Riko Ngare confirmed the incident saying the ill-fated vehicles were towed to Narok North police station for inspection.

He called on motorists to be vigilant when plying the smooth highway to avoid causing accidents.
