The Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) has officially announced its nationwide recruitment exercise scheduled forย October 2025, offering opportunities across several categories:ย General Service Officer (GSO) Cadets, Specialist Officers, General Duty Recruits, Tradesmen/women, and Defence Forces Constables.

This yearโ€™s recruitment drive aims to bring in passionate and qualified Kenyans ready to serve their country with honor, courage, and commitment.

To qualify, applicants must:

The application method varies depending on the role:

GSO Cadets (Regular & Graduates), Specialist Officers, and Tradesmen/women: Applyย online atย https://recruit.mod.go.ke.

General Duty Recruits & Defence Forces Constables: Report in person at designated recruitment centers across the country.

Important:ย The KDF recruitment exercise isย free of charge. Bribery, corruption, or canvassing is strictly prohibited and offenders will be prosecuted.

GSO Cadets (Regular): KCSE mean gradeย B (Plain), with at least aย C+ (Plus)in English, Mathematics, and one science.

GSO Cadets (Graduate): Same KCSE requirements as above, plus a Bachelorโ€™s degree in a relevant field.

Specialist Officers: KCSE mean gradeย B (Plain), Bachelorโ€™s degree in a relevant field, and registration with the respective regulatory body.

General Duty Recruits: KCSE mean gradeย D (Plain).

Defence Forces Constables: Forย retired service members only.
