A 55–year–old Nairobi mechanic, allegedly caught in bed with 13-year-old step-daughter, is facing charges of attempted defilement and committing an indecent act with a child.

GO is charged with attempted defilement contrary to section 9 (1) (2) of the Sexual Offences (SO) Act of 2006 after he was reportedly caught attempting to defile his stepdaughter by his wife.

He is accused of attempting to defile MA at Kisii Village within Makadara Sub-County in Nairobi on September 10.

The suspect is facing an additional charge of committing an indecent act with a child contrary to section 11 (1) of the SO Act, where he is accused of indecently and intentionally touching the minor’s genitals.

GO denied the charges before Senior Resident Magistrate Stephany Bett of the Makadara law courts and was released on a bond of Sh200,000 without an option of a cash bail.

MA’s mother had left her inside the house, seated on a seat, while the suspect slept on the bed in their single mabati house as she went to buy groceries.

She returned briefly to find her daughter and husband half-naked. The survivor’s mother raised an alarm, and the suspect was arrested by his two stepsons and members of the public who escorted him to South B police station.

MA told the police during the investigations that immediately her mother left the house, her stepfather, who was pretending to be drunk, grabbed and took her to the bed, undressing her hhalfway

He had also started dropping his trousers before his wife returned abruptly.

The case will be mentioned on October 29 2025, before the hearing starts on February 23, 2026.
