Earlier, TUKO.co.ke reported that Kenya rolled out the Kenyan Digital Token (KDT) as part of its efforts to strengthen the country’s position in the global digital economy.

During the launch of the KDT in July 2025, Information, Communications, and the Digital Economy Cabinet Secretary William Kabogo described it as a decisive step toward economic transformation.
