Self-styled Ghetto president Calvince Gaucho has been criticised for his underwhelming performance during a debate against Joakim Simiyu.

Gaucho appeared on the Oga Obinna Show and debated Simiyu on the online talk show.

The former Bunge la Wananchi president is currently supporting President William Ruto’s government, thanks to the broad-based partnership between Raila Odinga’s Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) and the ruling party, United Democratic Alliance (UDA).

While on the show, Gaucho was supposed to defend the government against Simiyu, who is a well-known government critic.

However, Simiyu outsmarted Gaucho in many instances with facts; he would stare blankly as Simiyu unleashed government failures, without putting up a strong defence.

For example, he couldn’t explain the benefit of the government’s Affordable Housing project, dodging Obinna’s question and admitting he doesn’t understand it.

Gaucho failed to defend the president on allegations of abduction and said there are things he can’t defend.

Gaucho had to listen to Simuyu explain his points fluently, and his body language painted a picture of someone who had not prepared enough for the debate, according to netizens’ observation.

Gaucho could be seen bragging about the trip, calling out those who do not take their kids on vacation.
