A staff member at Mediamax Limited is fighting for his life following a tragic suicide attempt allegedly linked to financial and workplace frustrations.
The employee, identified as Rufus Mbuthia, reportedly left behind a disturbing suicide note in which he accused Mediamax CEO Ken Ngaruiya of frustrating him and pushing him into depression.
In the note, Mbuthia alleged that the companyโs toxic work environment had become unbearable.
He was rushed to Avenue Hospital in Nairobi, where doctors are battling to stabilize him. Medical sources confirmed that his condition remains critical.
According to insiders, Mediamax staff have gone for months without salaries, a situation that has driven many employees into depression and financial despair.
The company recently retrenched over 90% of its workforce, citing dwindling revenues and digital disruption. The few remaining staff are reportedly overworked and under severe mental and financial strain.
