The Officer Commanding Station (OCS) of Ntimaru Police Station, identified as Daniel Muchiri, has been released after being arrested for attending a high-level security forum while intoxicated.

The incident occurred during the Jukwaa la Usalama forum in Migori on Thursday, which was presided over by Interior Cabinet Secretary Kipchumba Murkomen. Muchiri allegedly arrived at the meeting drunk, causing alarm among senior officials and prompting his immediate arrest.

According to a police report, the OCS was subjected to a breathalyzer test and later referred to Migori Referral Hospital for further medical examination.

Suna East Sub-County Police Commander Samwel Boit confirmed the arrest, stating that Muchiri was booked at Suna East Police Station before being released pending disciplinary action.

The disciplinary process is expected to determine whether the officer will face suspension or reassignment.
