The Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) has said it will temporarily shut down its iTax platform on Thursday night for scheduled maintenance.

“Kenya Revenue Authority informs all stakeholders that there will be a scheduled maintenance of iTax,” KRA announced.

The authority confirmed the interruption will begin at 10:00 p.m. on Thursday and end at 2:00 a.m. on Friday, affecting all users of the online system.

โ€œDuring this period, iTax will be unavailable. Any inconvenience caused is highly regretted.โ€

The downtime will cut off access to services, including tax return filing, payment slip generation, and other functions handled through iTax.

Both businesses and individual taxpayers have been asked to make arrangements ahead of the four-hour break.

The exercise is part of the routine system work meant to keep the platform in order.

Over the past few years, the authority has expanded its use of digital platforms to reduce paperwork and improve revenue collection.

Although the shutdown is brief, it is expected to impact a wide range of users who rely on the system for day-to-day operations.
