Mary Biketi has addressed recent claims circulating on social media that her car was repossessed and that she had moved into a bedsitter in Syokimau. The claims emerged following speculation that Cooperatives and MSMEs CS Wycliffe Oparanya had ended their relationship.

Social media sleuths amplified the rumours after noticing the couple had not appeared publicly together, suggesting Biketi had been โ€œdumped.โ€ Posts on platforms such as Edgar Obareโ€™s anonymous Q&A segment fueled the narrative, with some alleging she had been evicted from her posh Kilimani apartment.

Biketi, who had been vacationing in South Africa, dismissed the rumours upon her return to Kenya. She clarified that Oparanya had purchased her a house before he became CS, and she would not live in poor conditions. She also posted a video driving her TX, countering claims that her car had been repossessed.

In her statement, Biketi said: โ€œOh car has been repossessed. Oh naishi Syokimau. Nilinunuliwa nyumba kabla akuwe CS. What is this? Does it look like a tuktuk to you? I live well unlike you. Pay your hustler fund first before you address me.โ€

The post generated reactions from netizens, many supporting her stance. Users emphasized that people should focus on their own finances rather than spreading unfounded rumours. Comments ranged from acknowledging her financial independence to highlighting that public speculation should not dictate personal matters.

Oparanya, a polygamous politician with two wives, confirmed that Biketi is his girlfriend. He stated his wives were aware of her prior to the photos leaking online. He also explained that he maintained the relationship because his wives were often busy and needed company when he traveled.

Mary Biketiโ€™s response puts to rest the circulating claims and reinforces her financial stability and independence. The episode highlights how quickly misinformation can spread on social media, especially when public figures are involved.
