TikTok star and media personality Azziad Nasenya broke her silence on the news that emerged regarding herย posh Kileleshwa residence listed for auction over a reported Ksh 25 million mortgage debt.

On Wednesday night, September 24, she took to her social media handles, sharing a 2:44 video clip, with fans anticipating that she would formally address the matter, but she didn’t; instead, she took a rather unusual route.

โ€œThere is something I respect, my online followers and my family, my social media family, because we have been on this journey for a very long time,” she began.

Azziad, who first went viral five years ago by uploading a video clip of her taking part in the Utawezana challenge, shared the clip of herself in her own residence making a cup of tea.

“Now, one thing Iโ€™ve been seeing this evening and afternoon in my calls and in my DMs is that you want ‘tea’. Guess what, we are going to make that, so letโ€™s go.โ€ย

She prepared her tea while continuing with her sarcastic response, adding, โ€œFunny thing is, I love flavoured tea. When I make my tea, it is like a cocktail.

“Once I make sure that the sugar has dissolved, we drink the tea. You wanted tea, here is tea, but remember, never let the tea get cold, drink it while itโ€™s hot,” she continued.

Azziadโ€™s witty response went viral, drawing divided reactions. While some applauded her for using humour to rise above the backlash and not letting the scandal drag her down, others demanded she come clean about the reasons behind the house auction.

The development came on the heels of growing claims fromย individuals who alleged thatย Azziad borrowed money from them and failed to pay them back.ย

Her upscale home at Platinum Oak Residency in Kileleshwa, Nairobi, was officially put up for sale by Okuku Agencies Auctioneers. According to a notice on local dailies and previously obtained byย Viral Tea, the public auction will take place on Wednesday, October 8, 2025, at 11:00 AM, at the Jeevan Bharati Building, 7th Floor, Harambee Avenue, Nairobi.

The notice states: โ€œAll that property known as L.R. NO. NAIROBI/BLOCK 13/4/4/65 APARTMENT NO. A-17-A PLATINUM OAK RESIDENCY registered as a leasehold interest I.N.O. Azziad Nasenya of P.O. Box 86222-00200 Nairobi. The subject property is a 4-bedroom apartment, all en-suite, with a servantโ€™s quarter located on Block A along Oloitoktok Road and next to its T-junction with Ole Odume Road in Lavington, Nairobi. It measures approximately 256 square meters.โ€

The auctioneers further note that the property is โ€œowner-occupied and suitable for residential use. Mains services water, electricity, and sewer are connected to the subject property, and other social services and amenities are available within the neighborhood.โ€ Interested bidders will have to meet strict conditions to participate in the sale.

โ€œAll interested bidders will be required to make a refundable deposit of KSh 100,000 to obtain a bidding number. A deposit of 10% must be paid in electronic funds transfer, bankerโ€™s cheque, or cash at the fall of the hammer and balance paid within 90 days to the Chargee,” adds the notice.

The sale is also โ€œsubject to reserve price and Land Control Board Consent (where applicable),โ€ with viewing arrangements available upon prior notice to the auctioneers.

Units at the Ravi Apartments, where Azziadโ€™s residence is situated, are valued between Ksh 24.5 million and Ksh 29.5 million.ย Reports indicated that she defaulted on a Ksh 25 million mortgage, a move that eventually triggered the auction.

In February, Azziad shared a hopeful message amidst claims she was defaulting on debt.ย In a post on her Instagram, she reflected on her situation and voiced optimism that better days and brighter moments lie ahead.
