A bus crash on Friday left 21 people dead. The bus crash occurred at the blackspot Coptic roundabout on the Kisumu-Kakamega road.

This tragedy which occurring at around 5pm was confirmed by Nyanza Region Traffic Commander Peter Maina.

“The driver appears to have lost control of the vehicle as it approached the roundabout, crossed over to the opposite lane heading back to Kakamega, and plunged into a ditch,” he said.

Among the deceased were 10 women, 10 men, and a 10-year-old girl. Those who were injured were rushed to the Jaramogi Oginga Odinga Teaching and Referral Hospital (JOOTRH) in Kisumu for treatment.
