Kishane Thompson is currently the fastest man in the world in 2025, having clocked an impressive 9.75 seconds at the Jamaican Championships.
After the Jamaican Championships, Kishane Thompson then competed at the Prefontaine Classic, clocking 9.85 seconds.

Kishane Thompson then proceeded to compete in the menโs 4x100m relay at the Diamond League Meeting in London, and he now gears up to line up in the menโs 100m at the Gyulai Istvรกn Memorial in Budapest on Tuesday, July 12.
Kishane Thompson noted that he is eager to get his legs in action, revealing that he has not competed in a while and would like to see what he can be able to achieve.
He added that being the fastest man in the world is a great feeling, but he does not like bragging about it like other athletes, aiming a subtle dig at Noah Lyles.

Competing in the menโs 100m final, Noah Lyles clocked 9.79 seconds, crossing the finish line five thousandths of a second faster than Kishane Thompson.

โI think some people brag about it more than I do, but Iโm not really a bragger, but I like to enjoy myself. Naturally, we as athletes, our biggest competitors are ourselves and injuries.
โI didnโt know the meeting record was 9.84 seconds, but Iโm not really going out there to light the track. Iโve not competed for a while, but I just want to get back on the track.โ
After the Gyulai Istvรกn Memorial, Kishane Thompson will head to the Diamond League Meeting in Silesia, where he will compete against three-time world 200m champion Noah Lyles. This will be the first time Noah Lyles and Kishane Thompson will be locking horns since the Paris Olympic Games.
