Grief engulfed Chesta Teachers Training College in West Pokot County after a tutor’s death.

The death of David Opicho Wefwila came as a great shock to the Board of Management (BoM) members, the Administration, staff, the Community, and residents of Pokot Central Sub-County.

At the college, the deceased served as the chaplain for Deliverance Church students, and in the community of Misikhu, Bungoma County, he was the Reverend at the popular Deliverance Church.

At the college, he was a member of the Guidance and Counselling Department, where his positive impact on assisting students was intensely felt.

Previously, the deceased taught at Friends School Kamusinga under the BOM, then he moved to Namawanga Bahai Secondary School until 2007, when TSC employed him in the same school.

He taught at the school until 2024, when TCS transferred him to Chesta Teachers’ Training College in Pokot Central Sub-County, West Pokot County.

The deceased was also a part-time lecturer at Pan African Christian University in Bungoma, Bungoma County.

The Dean of Curriculum at Chesta Teachers Training College, John Gitau, who represented the Principal, eulogised the late on Saturday during the funeral as a dedicated and committed member of staff.
