A family in Chokaa area in Embakasi East is in agony after a child died and other six family members sustained serious injuries following a gas cylinder explosion at their house.

According to Hellen Achieng, the incident happened at night when she was preparing supper for her husband who had just returned from work.

“Nilikuwa nawakisha gas nimpikie chakula, vile niliakisha, moto ikalipuka. Tukachomeka kwa nyumba mpaka watoto.Majirani ndio walituchukuwa wakatupeleka mama Lucy,” Achieng narrated.

They were later referred to Kenyatta National Hospital where four members of the family were place in the intensive care unit(ICU), including a minor who later passed on while undergoing treatment at the facility.

Achieng added that, the bill is now over Kes. 200,000, calling on well wishers and the Government to come to the families aid.
