The Kenya Meteorological Department (KMD) has released the weather forecast for the period between September 30 and October 4, 2025. In its latest forecast released on September 30, Kenya Met indicated that most parts of the country will remain sunny and dry, with occasional rainfall expected in select regions.
According to the forecast, rainfall is likely in parts of the Highlands, East and West of the Rift Valley, the Lake Victoria Basin, and Northwestern Kenya, with isolated heavy downpours possible in some areas.

In the Highlands West of the Rift Valley, Lake Victoria Basin, and Rift Valley counties โ including Kisumu, Kakamega, Bungoma, Uasin Gishu, Nakuru, Narok, Kericho, and Migori โ mornings will be mainly sunny, with a chance of light rain in a few places.
Afternoons are expected to experience showers and thunderstorms across several areas, while light evening and night showers may persist.
Daytime temperatures will range between 28ยฐC and 32ยฐC, while nighttime temperatures could drop to as low as 11ยฐC.
In Northwestern Kenya, particularly in Turkana and Samburu counties, sunny intervals will dominate the mornings, although scattered rains may occur in some areas.
Afternoons and nights may also record occasional light showers. The region will continue to experience hot daytime conditions and cooler nights.
In the Highlands East of the Rift Valley, which includes counties such as Nyandarua, Nyeri, Murangโa, Kiambu, Meru, Embu, Tharaka Nithi, Laikipia, Kirinyaga, and Nairobi, mornings will start off cloudy before giving way to sunny intervals.
Light showers are expected in some areas during the afternoons, with more widespread showers likely toward the weekend. Night conditions will be partly cloudy, though isolated showers are possible. Temperatures are expected to range between 7ยฐC and 31ยฐC.
In Northeastern Kenya โ covering Marsabit, Mandera, Wajir, Garissa, and Isiolo counties โ mornings will be mainly sunny, while afternoons will remain largely dry except for occasional showers in isolated areas toward the end of the week.
Nights will be partly cloudy, with light showers possible in some places. The region will continue to experience hot daytime conditions, ranging from 37ยฐC to 39ยฐC, and relatively warm nights, with temperatures between 14ยฐC and 16ยฐC.
Meanwhile, parts of Northwestern Kenya will also experience high daytime temperatures of up to 36ยฐC, alongside chances of showers and thunderstorms in the afternoons.
In the South-eastern Lowlands, which include Kitui, Makueni, Machakos, Kajiado, Taita Taveta, and inland parts of Tana River County, conditions will remain mostly sunny throughout the week.
Mornings and afternoons are expected to feature sunny intervals, with the possibility of light showers emerging in some areas on Saturday afternoon.
Nights will remain partly cloudy, though isolated showers may develop in a few places toward the end of the week. Temperatures will range between 11ยฐC and 32ยฐC, with warmer days and relatively cool nights.
Along the Coastal region โ covering Mombasa, Kilifi, Lamu, Kwale, and the coastal Tana River โ the weather will also be predominantly sunny.
However, Saturday morning may bring isolated showers in a few areas before returning to sunny conditions later in the day. Nights will generally be partly cloudy, providing some relief from the hot daytime conditions.
Maximum temperatures are expected to average 31ยฐC to 32ยฐC, with minimums ranging from 20ยฐC to 21ยฐC.
