Kitui Governor Dr. Julius Malombe on Tuesday September 30, hosted several Principal Secretaries to review Kituiโ€™s readiness to host this yearโ€™s Mashujaa Day celebrations on October 20th.

The PS for Interior and National Administration Dr. Raymond Omollo, PS State Department for Aviation and Aerospace Terry Mbaika, PS Housing and Urban Development Charles Hinga, and PS for Maritime Affairs Aden Mohamed Millah both visited the governor.

The brief meeting took place at the Governorโ€™s Office in Kitui town.

The upcoming celebrations will not only honor Kenyaโ€™s heroes but also enhance infrastructure, boost local businesses, expand opportunities for residents, showcase Kituiโ€™s culture, hospitality, and growing potential.

This yearโ€™s celebrations will be held at Ithookwe stadium which will hold up to 10,000 people and is one of several legacy projects being fast-tracked to support the event and stimulate regional development.

The Ithookwe Stadium, once complete, is poised to be one of the largest venues in the region, underscoring the governmentโ€™s focus on equitable development.

Their visit comes amid heightened preparations by both the national and county governments to deliver a memorable, inclusive Mashujaa Day celebration, the first ever to be held in Kitui County.

This marks a significant milestone for the county, as local and national authorities work together to ensure the event showcases the governmentโ€™s commitment to inclusive growth and that no region is left behind in Kenyaโ€™s development journey.
