Residents of Malava Constituency have been urged to support the broad-based government to achieve more development.
The Director of the National Constituency Development Fund (NG-CDF), Naomi Shiyonga, while addressing residents of the constituency during the public participation on the tarmacking of the Malava–Samitsi–Navakholo road, said the current government was committed to transforming the constituency to the required standards. Mama Signal, as she is fondly known, told the locals to support the government fully.
Shiyonga dismissed claims of voter bribery during the Malava United Democratic Alliance (UDA) nominations that saw David Ndakwa elected as the party flag bearer to battle other contestants in the upcoming November 27, 2025, by-election. She stated that those who lost in the UDA nominations should swallow their pride and support the nominee, arguing that they all vied in the same party.
She criticized those dragging the names of national leaders into claims of having swayed the outcome of the Malava UDA nominations, saying it was wrong and uncalled for, and instead urged them to respect the results.
“It is surprising to hear some new political entrants in the Malava political arena already blaming and mudslinging senior leaders in the government, claiming they had an upper hand in the outcome of the Malava UDA nominations. It’s the voters who decided who should be their leaders, and they made their choice. Let us be free to concede, move on, and stop blaming our failures on other leaders,” she said.
She hailed President Ruto’s administration for securing Malava after the demise of its MP, Malulu Injendi.
Shiyonga, a staunch supporter of President William Ruto’s administration, blasted those lamenting about the state of affairs in the country with the aim of painting the government as having failed. She insisted that in the three years it has been in power, the government has transformed the country to greater heights.
“We as government have been working around the clock to ensure ordinary Kenyans have better services and improved livelihoods. We will continue, and by the time our President leaves office in 2032, Kenya will be ranked among the top developed African countries,” she stated.
She hit out at those opposing the current government, urging them to offer alternative solutions instead of poisoning the minds of Kenyans with empty promises of change when they take office.
Shiyonga called on Malava residents to rally behind David Ndakwa in the November 27, 2025, by-election and vote him in as their next MP.
“It is only through government that Malava will fully benefit from the administration of the day. Already you can see the completion of the Malava Kenya Medical Training College (KMTC), and today we are launching works on the Malava–Samitsi–Navakholo bitumen road at a cost of Ksh1.6 billion,” she said.
She emphasized that development was paramount in Malava and would only come when residents elect the right leaders.
She drummed up support for the government, stating that it had lifted Malava from political oblivion and that significant empowerment had been witnessed in the constituency since the passing of the area MP.
The leader also called on young people to take up the voter registration initiative seriously and ensure they vote for Ndakwa in the coming by-election.
