Suba South MP Caroli Omondi observes that the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) has lost its mojo over decade since its formation.

The lawmaker suggested that joining the Kenya Kwanza regime in the broad-based government arrangement was a blunder on the part of the party.

Omondi recalled how the party had a formidable side in the National Assembly post-2007 election.

The declining membership in the legislature is another indicator.

And the trajectory has been consistent over the years.

The division witnessed in the party regarding the broad-based government is also another indicator of the party being headed in the wrong direction, the MP noted.

The MP also spotlighted a supposed cartel of politicians who have ringfenced Raila and are using him for their selfish gains.

Omondi seemed to side with former deputy president Rigathi Gachagua, who recently noted that ODM has two sides deliberately set up to conveniently checkmate President William Ruto.

That one side supports the president, and the other calls him out to fall in favour of Kenyans dissatisfied with the regime.

He noted that some senior members of the party were leveraging the confusion to reap from the government.

According to the MP, such characters were depriving the party of its political capital and grassroots momentum that it has enjoyed for a long time. Consequently, members would quit to align with other political outfits that reflect their aspirations.
