The move came on Wednesday, October 1, 2025, during a Thanksgiving event Injendi organised to thank the Malava electorate for backing him in the UDA primaries.
Held in the heart of Malava, the event drew key political figures, including President William Ruto’s aide, Farouk Kibet, and brought together other defeated aspirants Leonard Shimaka and Simon Kangwana, who had scored 1,192 and 1,064 votes respectively.
During the Thanksgiving event, Injendi expressed gratitude to his supporters and emphasised the unifying power of the gathering.
He acknowledged his fellow aspirants, noting the friendships formed despite competition, adding that it was time to shelve their ambitions.
