For many Kenyan households and businesses, the hunt for the perfect air conditioner is not just about cooling the air, but about finding a stylish, reliable, and energy-saving companion.

That’s where LG Electronics East Africa has just stepped in with its new premium LG Artcool Air Conditioner: a sleek gadget promising to change how Kenyans think about home cooling.

The launch comes at a time when Kenya’s air conditioning market is literally heating up and is projected to grow by 12.56 per cent in 2025 and peaking at 13.17 per cent in 2026.

Across sub-Saharan Africa, the HVAC sector is set to surpass $5.23 billion by 2030, reflecting rising urbanisation, a swelling middle class, and demand for energy-efficient solutions.

Speaking during the launch in Nairobi, LG East Africa President Donghun Lee positioned the Artcool Air Conditoner as a premium appliance and a lifestyle upgrade at the same time.

“This product represents a new era of air conditioning by bringing together the best in technology and aesthetic design in one refined unit,” opined Lee.

At the Artcool’s core is LG’s proprietary Inverter Compressor, a powerhouse that promises up to 70 per cent energy savings and 40 per cent faster cooling, all while running at whisper-quiet levels.

LG is so confident in its durability that it is offering a 10-year warranty on the compressor, promising lower electricity bills, faster relief from heat, as well as long-term reliability.

But what really sets the Artcool apart is its minimalist, modern design, with its slim, polished finish allowing it to blend seamlessly into chic apartments, urban homes, and stylish office spaces.

Additionally, the new gadget is Wi-Fi enabled and powered by LG ThinQ smart technology.

“The unit includes the LG ThinQ smart technology, which allows users to control the air conditioner remotely via smartphone,” said LG East Africa’s Air Solutions Product Director Tony Yun.

Yun added: “This enables basic functions such as turning the unit on or off, adjusting settings, and monitoring energy usage, even when away from home.”

The LG Artcool is already available for purchase through the LG website and Opalnet retail outlets across Kenya.
