Kenyaโ€™s regulated Savings and Credit Cooperative Societies (SACCOs) have achieved a total asset exceeding Sh1 trillion for the first time.

According to the 2024 SACCO Supervision Report by the Sacco Societies Regulatory Authority (SASRA), the sectorโ€™s asset base expanded by 10.72 percent in 2024 to Sh1.076 trillion.

Gross loans issued increased to Sh845.11 billion from Sh758.57 billion in 2023, while deposits and savings rose by nearly 10 percent to reach Sh749.43 billion.

Mwalimu National SACCO ranked as the wealthiest SACCO in the country with its assets totaling Sh68.89 billion, an increase from Sh66.43 billion in 2023.
