Popular Mugithi singer Samuel Muchoki, better known as Samidoh, has finally addressed swirling rumours about his political ambitions in Nyandarua County ahead of the 2027 polls.

Samidoh has recently been in the spotlight, not only for his music but also for his alleged political involvement.

Reports surfaced that he was transferred from his post to the Anti-stock and theft unit in Gilgil after participating in anti-government chants, intensifying speculation about his future in politics.

While in the United States recently, Samidoh appeared to drop hints of a political career when he shared a photo with his son, accompanied by the hashtag #oljoro_orok001.

This fuelled speculation that he was preparing to vie for the Ol Joro Orok parliamentary seat in 2027.

In addition, the singer was previously seen donating foodstuff to residents in the constituency, an act many interpreted as him laying political groundwork.

However, the narrative took an unexpected turn on Monday, August 10, when Samidoh appeared in court to testify in the mysterious death case of his cousin, Jeff Mwathi.

During cross-examination, lawyer Danstan Omari asked the singer whether he intended to run for any political seat in Nyandarua County in the upcoming elections.

The question was a strategic move by Omari as he made his arguement in the case.

After the singer was transferred to Gilgil, he soon travelled to the US for his tour.

When he failed to report back to his post, the police issued a warrant of arrest against him.

Leaked police documents also revealed that his salary was suspended as a result.
