Activist and public commentator Morara Kebaso has broken his silence on the intense social media bullying and trolling he endured over the past two years, describing it as one of the most painful experiences of his life.

In a candid video shared on X on Thursday, October 2, 2025, Kebaso explained that while he initially tried to ignore the constant insults and accusations, the psychological toll eventually became overwhelming.

“One of the most painful things that happened to me this year and last year was the social media bullying and the insults,” Kebaso stated.

He expressed a deep sense of betrayal, feeling that the very people he believed he was fighting for were turning against him.

Kebaso admitted that the continuous barrage of hurtful remarks, especially being publicly labeled a “conman,” made him seriously question his public service efforts.

“I started feeling like, if the same people I am fighting for are not supportive of what I am fighting for, then afadhali hata niwachane nayo nirudi kwa biashara zangu (it’s better I just quit and go back to my businesses),” he shared.

He revealed the lasting damage the bullying caused: “You caused me immense pain. I have never healed from that thing.” The emotional betrayal made him feel his reputation was unfairly tarnished by the online community.

Despite the deep wound, Kebaso confirmed he has managed to recover and resume his work. While the painful experience remains fresh in his memory, he has chosen not to let it halt his commitment to public life.

“However much I endured that pain, and I look back and I feel the pain from that moment, I have been able to move on,” he said. Kebaso concluded by emphasizing that he draws his strength from his faith and the conviction that “Leadership is a gift from God,” affirming his commitment to his journey despite the betrayal and insults.
