The highly-publicised Luo Festival 2025 took place on Saturday, August 9, at Uhuru Gardens, Nairobi, and it was an event to remember.

For once in Kenya’s big-event history, the post-show conversation has not een dominated by complaints about bad sound, poor lighting, overcrowded venues, or lack of screens.

Instead, fans and netizens are marvelling at the spectacular performances, top-tier DJ sets, and show-stopping fashion moments that have become synonymous with the festival.

Celebrated Luo artistes including Tony Nyadundo, Ema Jalamo, John Junior, Prince Indah, Osito Kale, Musa Jakadalla, Odongo Swagg among others, got the chance to entertain the about 16,000 revellers who showed up for the event.

Notable figures at the event included Embakasi East MP Babu Owino, Lang’ata MP Jalang’o, Senator Karen Nyamu, Law Society of Kenya president Faith Odhiambo among others.

The stage commanded attention with its grandeur, captivating the audience with stunning visuals.

The sound was exquisite, clear from the front row to the back, and the large screens ensured that every detail and emotion from the performers was visible to everyone.

Speaking to TUKO.co.ke, Homeland Itoya Events director Edwine Anayo revealed the company started out as a supplier of tents and basic infrastructure and now they have evolved into a full-fledged, end-to-end events management powerhouse.

Major sponsors like East African Breweries Limited (EABL), once steady backers of flagship events such as Walker Town and Tusker Oktoberfest, had scaled back after repeated logistical failures, last-minute cancellations, and refund controversies.
