Huawei Africa Night 2025

More than 500 government officials, industry leaders, partners, and experts gathered at Huawei Africa Night 2025, held alongside HUAWEI CONNECT 2025, to discuss how intelligent technologies can accelerate Africa’s digital transformation.

The event, themed “All Intelligence for New Africa”, highlighted the continent’s leapfrog progress in ICT — from widespread adoption of 4G and 5G networks to digital government services, mobile payments, and renewable energy solutions.

Speaking at the event, Shen Li, President of Huawei Northern Africa, said Africa is at a pivotal inflection point, moving from informatization into a fully digital and intelligent era. He reaffirmed Huawei’s long-term commitment to the continent under the banner “In Africa, for Africa.”

To advance this vision, Huawei unveiled a three-pillar framework focused on New Value, New Infrastructure, and New Ecosystem. Under New Value, the company is rolling out inclusive solutions for connectivity, education, government services, security, and energy. The New Infrastructure pillar brings together cloud, AI, core networks, and devices to deliver comprehensive digital offerings. Meanwhile, New Ecosystem emphasizes open collaboration, aiming to build a community of customers, partners, and talent that can accelerate Africa’s shift to intelligent operations.

Huawei executives delivered keynote sessions outlining how this framework will support Africa’s intelligent transformation, while also engaging guests in discussions on current trends and best practices from across the continent.

A major highlight of the evening was the launch of the “African Intelligence Pioneers” program, which honored 14 organizations across nine sectors — including public administration, telecommunications, education, healthcare, oil and gas, mining, transport, energy, and finance. These organizations were recognized for their innovative use of AI, cloud, and other advanced technologies to shape new business models and solutions tailored to Africa’s unique context.

Huawei said it will continue working closely with African governments, businesses, and institutions to strengthen strategy, technology, innovation, and talent development, paving the way for a more intelligent, interconnected, and sustainable digital Africa.
