Heart-wrenching scenes unfolded at Gacharage grounds in Kandara as the bodies of 14 family members who perished in the Kikopey crash arrived for a joint funeral service.

The 14 perished in an accident on Sunday, September 18, after the matatu they were travelling in for a family occasion collided with a trailer.

On Saturday, October 4, family and friends gathered at Gacharage in Murang’a County for a funeral service for their deceased kin.

After the caskets arrived at the venue, family and friends could not hold their tears as they grieved painfully at Gacharage grounds in Kandara.

A moving video captured the moment when a young lady was overwhelmed by grief and fell to the ground while calling out for her deceased family members.

Ushers and a police officer rushed to her side to help her as she buried her head in the ground, unable to come to terms with the cruel reality of the deaths.

Priests were spotted placing a candle on each of the 14 coffins as the memorial service began.
