According to a statement issued by Onyango’s family, the man was stabbed several times by individuals on a boda boda while driving home from work.

Police Commander Phanton Analo stated that the man was attacked by unknown assailants in the Korando area.

While confirming the incident, Analo stated that Onyango was being trailed by two men on a boda boda before the attack was carried out.

Analo said that the deceased was not alone in the car. He was in the company of a passenger who had already filed a complaint with the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) crime unit in Maseno before.

Speaking to the press outside Maseno police station, the family of the deceased expressed the pain they are in following the death of their beloved.

Lenser Atieno, Onyango’s elder sister, appealed to the government to help them acquire justice.

She stated that Silas was a peaceful person who never wronged anyone, and if that were the case, he should have been brought to justice where justice could prevail.

Lenser painfully recounted how she received a phone call bearing the bad news several hours after Onyango died.

Another relative stated that when they rushed to the morgue to see their kin, they found him with over 16 stab wounds from the neck to the back.

They stated that Onyango’s body was taken to the Jaramogi Oginga Odinga Teaching and Referral Hospital for preservation as funeral arrangements continue.
