Police in Mombasa have arrested a man in possession of a massive 90-kilogramconsignment of cannabis sativa during a daring operation at Changamwe Roundabouton 11 August 2025.

The bust followed credible intelligence that led officers from Changamwe Police Stationto mount an undercover ambush targeting a Buscar Bus Ltd vehicle suspected offerrying drugs. When the bus was intercepted and searched, officers discovered a baledisguised as mitumba (second-hand clothes).

Moments later, a man on a motorcycle arrived to collect the package. Acting swiftly,police apprehended him before he could load it. A thorough inspection revealed tightlypacked rolls of cannabis hidden inside a black polythene bag and wrapped in clothing toconceal the drugs.The suspect is in police custody as investigations continue.
