Kenyan social media personality and content creator Shorn Arwa has stirred online debate after sharing her unfiltered opinion about renowned Ohangla artist Prince Indah’s recent live show.

In a series of Instagram Stories, Shorn revealed she had watched Prince Indah perform for the very first time. Despite the hype surrounding his concerts, she admitted the experience left her with mixed feelings.

“I watched Prince Indah perform for the first time yesterday,” she wrote. “From the posts and hype, I expected him to be the man of the night. But for me, I don’t think Prince Indah is an entertainer. I think he is more of a musician—a singer.”

Shorn suggested that his music might be better appreciated on recorded platforms than on stage.“I think it’s better when we listen to his music on YouTube. I do not think he’s an entertainer. I do not think, and I don’t stand to be corrected. That’s my own opinion—take it to the bank,” she added.

The outspoken influencer went on to compare his performance to another act from the same night, praising the inclusion of a lively acrobatic dancer that kept the crowd engaged.“There was this one who came with some dancer. I don’t even know how much he pays those guys because the guy was dancing! That particular musician wasn’t doing much himself, but you could tell he is an entertainer,” she said.

Her remarks have divided fans. Some agreed that a powerful voice alone doesn’t guarantee an electrifying stage presence, while others defended Prince Indah, insisting his strength lies in musical artistry rather than theatrics.

Prince Indah—affectionately known as “Janabi” to his fans—has built a massive following with his soulful Ohangla hits, sold-out shows, and millions of YouTube views. Still, Shorn’s comments reignite the long-running conversation about the balance between vocal talent and showmanship in live music.
